Internet infrastructure distributor to supply
Tamino platform and XML-integration technology

Bracknell, UK, 17 April 2001: Software AG, Europe’s largest systems software company, today announced a new distributor agreement with Clarity Internetworking. The deal, signed at CeBIT, March 2001, provides Software AG with a UK distribution route to systems integrators and Internet deployment companies for its Tamino platform and XML-based integration tools such as EntireX.

Managing Director of Clarity, Gareth Morgan, explains, “Clarity’s core business is the value-added distribution of Internet infrastructure, and we target ISPs, telecom companies, software houses and systems integrators. The Tamino product sits comfortably in front of other publishing databases, as well as integrating with our other suppliers’ offerings, including those from Nortel, Alteon and Sybase. In addition, the mobile space is a key market driver, and Software AG’s XML and Tamino story is similarly well suited to it.”

Clarity Internetworking boasts more than 250 active partners in the UK, and provides Software AG with a solid distribution base from which to reach SMEs and corporates through VARs, systems integrators and resellers. Geoff Cooke, General Manager of Sales & Marketing at Software AG UK comments, “Software AG has a clear distribution strategy for the UK, and Clarity recognised this immediately. With Clarity on board, we expect to see significant growth in the second-tier partner base for Software AG.”

Morgan of Clarity concludes, “For us, XML is a break-in market, and we see Software AG as being very dynamic in the UK. Software AG is the only choice for XML-based database and integration products.”

The signing of Clarity Internetworking cements Software AG’s commitment to two-tier distribution in the UK. Software AG is also represented by InterQuad Systems.
