Data Integration Fulfils the Needs of the ISV Community with its Hosted Applications Program Thursday 19 April 2001 PDF Print Nine Software Vendors Join Data Integration’s Web-Enablement Scheme Data Integration Group, the systems integrator, has announced the addition of nine specialist ISVs (independent software vendors) to its hosted application program based on application serving software from Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS). The program will enable each company to provide its direct or indirect sales channel with a hosted solution, through the Data Integration Application Delivery System (ADS). Citrix technology allows server-based applications to be effectively managed and delivered from Data Integration’s hosted environment. “We have valuable partnerships with many ISVs, and help them to realise wide market potential by enabling the delivery of more services for their users,” said Simon Crumplin, Managing Director of Data Integration Group. “We can benefit our partnerships with the functionality of Citrix software in our own ASP architecture.” Nine ISVs have joined the scheme so far and the popularity of the proposition shows no signs of abating. Together, the nine encompass a multitude of application functions including recruitment databases, accountancy, project management, CRM and travel booking. They include Superoffice, Bond International and Dolphin Dynamics. Data Integration’s scheme is important for ISVs with software requiring moderate to large amounts of integration and technical support. “Application development is a very competitive market and ASP-enablement is fast becoming a key differentiator,” explained Tim Richards, European CEO of Bond International. “We recognise that our product functionality is only as good as its availability to the end user.” Under the scheme ISVs enjoy the benefits of offering an ASP alternative (shorter product sales cycles, broader market penetration, value added services etc.) without owning a datacentre. “Data Integration are facilitating a crucial function by providing the vehicle for more ISVs to become involved in the ASP model, and thereby bringing them closer to their markets,” said Kevin Bland, iBusiness Sales Manager, Northern Europe of Citrix Systems.
