Unipower eBusiness Group, exhibiting at Webcom 2001, are showcasing their web content management tool, recently implemented by client BAA.

BAA plc, the leading international airport operator group that controls the £2billion property portfolio including Heathrow and six other leading airports in the UK, has chosen WebBuilderMagic to provide a flexible content management solution for the group’s 5,000-user intranet.

WebBuilderMagic is the innovative web content management tool developed by Unipower’s eBusiness Group. Unipower has been developing web sites in Lotus Domino since its release for some of the world’s leading companies including Prudential, Halifax, Unilever, Natwest, Standard Chartered Bank and Cadbury Schweppes. In the course of these development projects WebBuilderMagic was created as the web content management tool that would give control of the website back to the business, whilst keeping internet and intranet start-up costs to a minimum.

When explaining why BAA chose Unipower’s solution over that of its competitors, Steve Munn, BAA’s Intranet Programme Manager, said:
“We are currently making a strategic investment to enhance the Intranet. The requirement for a content management tool formed a vital element of this. We assessed a number of products but it soon became clear that WebBuilderMagic best suited our needs.”

One of the many advantages of WebBuilderMagic is that by making site development as easy as possible, IT resources become free and updates can happen quickly and efficiently. The intranet project at BAA highlights the ease with which WebBuilderMagic can enable you to get an intranet solution up and running.

Matthew Barnett, Operations Director of Unipower eBusiness Group, continues:
“The BAA intranet project was atypical for the industry in that it is a sizeable undertaking – supplying a solution that will allow effective content management for a 5,500-user intranet – yet being delivered in only twelve weeks using a small team. This was a direct result of using
one of Unipower’s eBusiness toolkits. It highlights exactly how cost-beneficial WebBuilderMagic is regardless of the size of the implementation; the benefits are completely scaleable.”

WebBuilderMagic allows for easy creation and maintenance of websites with integrated approval cycles, publication windows and WYSIWYG page editing that enables the user to build the structure of the site in one database. WebBuilderMagic also has tools for generating JavaScript “on-the-fly”, business templates and can act as a single container for web elements from a variety of sources.
