- E-business consultancy establishes dedicated in-house operational services capability to provide post-implementation application support -


London, UK, 24 April, 2001 - E-business consultancy, Rubus, has launched an Operational Services business unit to provide its clients with application support services, post-implementation. It is the first of the pure-play Internet consultancies to offer a dedicated in-house unit for application support and is part of its ongoing commitment to client service.

The new business unit will enable Rubus' customers to more effectively manage and have greater control over the strategic direction of their e-business applications, post launch. Developed as a result of demand from existing clients, the Operational Services business unit will draw on the operational design expertise that is already part of Rubus' offering and will provide clients with access to this expertise on a much broader basis. Clients already signed up for support by the unit include B&Q, for its www.diy.com site and leading securities house, Cazenove.

Built on Rubus' experience in developing integrated business solutions for leading blue chip clients, the Operational Services business will provide two key offerings:

Application support
On an ongoing basis, Rubus will deliver application support including development of new functionality and new content integration, as well as bug fixing and minor enhancements and upgrades. Rubus will also provide clients contracted to this service with ongoing counsel on possible direction of the e-business service, to enable them to incorporate new developments into their site to ensure that their e-business applications support their business strategy both consistently and continually.

Transition services
Where overall support is ultimately undertaken by the client or a third party, Rubus will assist in knowledge transfer to the support provider, offer advice and guidance on service delivery management including defining the support model and management processes and set up an ongoing bug fix and test environment. Rubus will also assist with the identification and selection process of a managed service provider through a competitive tender and selection process.
