Extends the International Reach of Market-leading Budgeting Application
London, April 24, 2001 – Hyperion (Nasdaq:HYSL), the leader in business analysis software, today announced the launch of Hyperion Pillar 4.7, which includes Japanese and Russian language versions. Hyperion Pillar 4.7 is the first version of the product available in these languages and further extends Pillar’s market-leading appeal in these countries, where English language versions have been selling strongly for some time. Hyperion Pillar is now available in six languages.
Andrey Komarov, the Deputy General Director of Pervouralsky Novotrubny Works said: “We are certain that Hyperion Pillar will help us solve most of our budgeting, planning and forecasting problems with quick time-to-benefit. The Russian version of Hyperion Pillar will allow us to use this application enterprise-wide by solving the problem with users who saw a non-Russian interface as an obstacle.”
Takuya Hirano, president of Hyperion Japan, said, “Japanese Companies have been able to introduce closed loop planning and reporting with Hyperion Pillar, and the Japanese language version will definitely help extend its benefits more widely across organisations.”
Hyperion offers its products directly in Japan, and in partnership with Arthur Andersen. In Russia, Hyperion’s products are available from LANIT, a local distributor. LANIT's Head of Financial and Analytical Systems Department, Eugene Dukhonin said, “Hyperion Pillar is a robust, end-user oriented application that requires minimum IT support, and that gives it great appeal to small and mid-sized companies typical of Russia's rapidly evolving market.”
Hyperion continues to see strong demand in the market for Hyperion Pillar - especially in emerging markets like Russia and Japan. Hyperion Pillar Release 4.7 provides support for multi-byte character sets and is now available in Japanese and Russian - in addition to English, French, German and Italian. This release makes Hyperion Pillar the only packaged budgeting applications that can be deployed on a global scale, with unmatched local language support as well as local support and service capabilities through Hyperion and its partners.
"One of the strengths of Hyperion Pillar is its ease of use and ability to be implemented quickly throughout an organisation, by Finance staff, with limited IT support", says Stephen Imbler, president and COO of Hyperion. "The Russian and Japanese language versions of Hyperion Pillar should allow existing customers in those markets to expand the use of Hyperion Pillar in their organisations and will allow many additional companies to streamline their budgeting processes and improve resource utilisation without going through a long implementation cycle."
Hyperion is one of the few vendors that can provide global support for our customers on a world-wide basis with local language support, as well as Sales, Services and partner resources that can support local and global customers. Tom Finstien, vice president and general manager of Hyperion’s Financial Products business unit said, “Hyperion will continue to invest in our market-leading financial applications in a way that will provide us the capability to address emerging and developing markets – both Geographic and vertical.”
Hyperion Pillar 4.7 includes the following:
· Multi-byte Character Set (MBCS) Support
· MS Windows/Office 2000 support
· Enhanced email system support
· Availability in Russian and Japanese, in addition to English, French, German and Italian.
· Localisation includes the Hyperion Pillar Spreadsheet Add-in and Hyperion AutoPilot.
“IDC projects that the market for financially focused analytic applications will grow to over $2Billion by 2004,” Says Henry Morris, Vice President of Data Warehousing and Applications at IDC. “Hyperion is the clear revenue leader in the rapidly growing market for packaged budgeting & planning applications.”
Hyperion Pillar 4.7 will be available from mid-April.
