SAS Institute, the market leader in e-intelligence and data warehousing, has appointed Chris Finch as Head of Alliances to spearhead the formation of a dedicated business alliance and channel development programme in the UK. Finch will be leading a team focused on setting up UK alliances and managing global alliance partners. He will also be driving the growth of indirect channel revenues, aiming to increase this to at least 20% of total UK revenues this year.
Finch has 27 years experience in the IT industry, beginning his career as a programmer before progressing to a sales-focused role. He has worked for companies such as Sema, Computer Associates and Micro Focus where he has gained a sound knowledge of creating and running channel and alliance programmes.
Commenting on his appointment Finch said, "This is an area that has been virtually untapped by SAS until recently. SAS already has a number of local and global partners but the relationships have often been at a tactical level. During the past year, SAS has increased its partnerships and has sought new distribution channels for its solutions."
He added, "Through the creation of a dedicated alliances team, we are able to focus on the development of these partnerships, formalising existing relationships and committing significant resources to building new alliances. We are looking to forge a number of high level partnerships with management consultants, integrators, hardware manufacturers and complimentary technology partners over the coming months."

Partners selected for the programme will work alongside SAS' own industry-focused business units to ensure that best quality services are provided to all customers.
