Networking vendor bucks the trend by announcing profit and increased share price
D-Link Corporation, Taiwan’s largest manufacturer of networking and communications products has reported a record first quarter. Q1 2001 revenues increased 46% over Q1 2000 and 8% over Q4 2000. D-Link Corporation’s share price (quoted on the Taiwan Stock Exchange – ticker symbol: T2332) has also risen by 99% during the period 3rd January 2001 to 23rd April 2001.
Dion Luyk, General Manager for UK, Ireland & Benelux, commented “We are delighted that despite adverse market conditions, D-Link continues to grow and increase its market share. This is a testament to the quality and innovation of our diverse product range and proves that we have the right products and support infrastructure to meet our customers’ needs.”
The networking and communications industry has seen a recent flourish of below expectation results and consequent cost cutting and lay-offs. “D-Link is not cutting back. We have laid solid foundations and will continue to build on them to maintain the momentum of our growth, without sacrificing the standards of service that we offer our customers,“ commented Luyk.
As an example, D-Link has focused on building and strengthening its valuable channel relationships and will shortly be announcing the launch of its new channel initiative for the UK and Ireland. Several new product releases are also planned for the next quarter; details of which will be announced to potential new partners at a series of events in the UK, Ireland and Benelux.
