Cambridge, 10 May, 2001 – Cambridge Display Technology today announced that it has reached a Technology Evaluation Agreement with Luxell Technologies Inc. of Toronto, Canada, under which the two companies will jointly evaluate the performance-enhancing impact of Luxell’s Black Layer™ technology on the organic light emitting polymer (LEP) structure which is licensed by CDT to flat panel display (FPD) manufacturers.

“This agreement provides us with the opportunity to work with the world’s leading developer of polymer-based LEP flat panel display technology” stated Luxell President and C.E.O. Brian Kennedy. Kennedy added, “This agreement is an important element of Luxell’s strategy to deploy the Company’s Black Layerä technology to the emerging OEL marketplace.”

David Fyfe, CEO of CDT, stated, “CDT’s central role in the development and commercialization of our LEP technology warrants the pursuit of innovative approaches for maximizing LEP performance. Luxell has demonstrated the effectiveness of its contrast enhancement technology in its own products and we look forward to evaluating its potential in light emitting polymer displays.”
