Announces Eprise Participant Server 3.5 and Intranet Advantage Services Package
for Building Corporate Intranet Applications
Eprise, provider of Strategic Content ManagementTM solutions, today announced Eprise Participant Server® version 3.5, which includes a point-and-click interface for quickly building content management functionality into Web sites. In addition, Eprise today announced its new Intranet Advantage Services PackageTM for helping customers quickly implement corporate intranets.
Ian Moyse, Managing Director, Eprise UK, explains, “Eprise Participant Server 3.5 encapsulates the experience of our professional services experts and hundreds of customer engagements into a simple point-and-click interface for quickly building the Web site for our customer’s content management applications. By quickly building the Web site framework, customers can focus their efforts on putting the appropriate content contribution, management and processes in place to meet their business objectives.
Sue Feldman, Director, Document & Content Technologies at IDC, “Eprise Participant Server puts content management in the hands of business users. It helps an enterprise get its content management applications up and running quickly.” She continues, “As the amount of information flowing through online environments continues to expand at a tremendous rate, putting control into the hands of the content creators and managers minimises the bottlenecks that prevent quick access to information. Eprise Participant Server does just that. In addition, integrating Microsoft Word into the content creation process gives business users a familiar environment in which to work. We see increasing demand from the marketplace for a business user-centric solution such as Participant Server that provides intranet-specific structure and functionality.”
In addition, Eprise Intranet Advantage Services Package enables companies to quickly and inexpensively implement a framework for their intranets using Eprise Participant Server 3.5. The content management solution is focused on delivering value for the business through a proven services methodology. Eprise’s Intranet Advantage Services Package provides customers with a discovery and planning session to define how contents, users and processes are incorporated into their intranet site. The professional services team then utilizes the site-generator technology to rapidly implement an intranet that lets users add, edit and manage content.

Moyse continues, “Delivering high-value content management applications focused around the needs of business users is our number one mission, and Eprise Participant Server 3.5 and the Intranet Advantage Services Package allow us to deliver on that mission.”
Tideworks Technology, the information services division of Stevedoring Services of America (SSA), a leading marine terminal operator with operations spread across the globe, launched phase one of its intranet to support 150 business units and 1,200 employees around the world. This provided a wide spectrum of intranet-ready human resources functions such as benefits management, payroll, business templates, and an electronic version of the company’s 300-page employee handbook.
According to Michelle Boone, Marketing Manager of Tideworks, “The complexity of managing operations that are segmented so widely is tremendous. Different locations have different health care providers; all forms and procedural manuals have to be updated and mailed out each time a change is necessitated; starter kits for offices are customised – it’s endless. The intranet will make it possible for more than 100 business managers to contribute and control content in a dynamic environment and keep their own administrative operations running smoothly as a result of more timely communications.”
Key new features of Eprise Participant Server 3.5 include:
· Site Generator - a browser-based interface for quickly building content management functionality into Web sites. It includes best practices for site navigation and page design. It also includes pre-defined components, such as sample page styles, user roles, edit and approval authorisation levels, and viewing permissions, typical of intranet applications such as human resource intranets, sales intranets, or development intranets.
· Content Connector Eprise Participant Server has always enabled users to easily access content from external (legacy) databases and use that content within a web page. Version 3.5 provides the ability to edit the database content within the context of the web page – then publish the modified data back to original database using the EPS workflow and approval processes.
· 3-Tier Redirector - enables the separation of the Web from Eprise Participant Server to separate computers for increased security.
· Integration with Microsoft® Word® – enables users to create Web content in Microsoft Word for increased ease-of-use for business users.
· Significant performance improvements in the communications between Eprise Participant Server and application servers, legacy applications, and databases.
· Platform Support - includes updates for Sun SolarisTM 2.8 as well as MS Windows NT® and MS Windows® 2000.
