London, May 14, 2001 - Tellme Networks, Inc. and Belgium-based MagicPhone
today announced that the two companies have merged to provide the first
global voice application network which brings the power of the Internet
and voice technologies to the telephone, improving how people place calls
and how businesses answer their phones. Now companies can make
sophisticated voice applications such as personalised voice dialling,
stock trading, airline reservations and general information services
available to callers in both the U.S. and Europe.

In addition to enabling an easier and more intuitive caller experience,
Tellme can help global businesses slash the high costs and complexity
associated with answering the telephone. The result is that businesses
can rapidly automate their existing call centre services and provide new
Internet-powered features over the telephone, making their callers happier
and therefore more loyal. For example, airlines can answer their phones
with a voice application that automates flight reservations, baggage
claim, and even provides the same personalised travel services available
today over the Web.

"When you have a trillion dollar industry like telecommunications
undergoing the kind of disruption and change we see today, the
opportunities that emerge are vast," said Mike McCue, CEO of Tellme.
"MagicPhone is a perfect addition to Tellme because we share the same
vision of what the phone can eventually become world-wide."

"MagicPhone has tapped into a huge new opportunity to use the Internet as
the basis for a pan-European network of interactive telephony
applications," said Luc Deleu, co-CEO of MagicPhone. "Tellme's resources
and experience will let us quickly extend our European customer base while
offering them world class speech recognition services and the ability to
make their voice applications available in the U.S."

As a result of this merger, Tellme now serves more than 65 customers
world-wide from industries such as travel, financial, media, and
telecommunications. The company employs 239 people world-wide, with
network operations in eight countries including the U.S., Belgium, France,
the United Kingdom, Germany, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland.
Luc Deleu and Alexandre Saboundjian will jointly manage all of Tellme's
European operations and will maintain the European headquarters in
Brussels. Tellme will operate in Europe as "MagicPhone, a Tellme
