Resulting Product to be Integrated with Caldera Volution

OREM, UT-May 14, 2001-Caldera International, Inc. (Nasdaq: CALD), today
announced the acquisition of the assets of the WhatifLinux technology from
Acrylis Inc. WhatifLinux technology provides Open Source users and system
administrators with Internet-delivered tools and services for faster, more
reliable software management. As a result of the acquisition, Caldera will
extend its Linux management solution, Caldera Volution (Volution), to
include online software management. The solution will be named Volution

Volution Online delivers the power and content of the extensive WhatifLinux
online knowledgebase of Open Source software. By subscribing to Volution
Online, MIS managers and Linux system administrators can take advantage of
the Internet for the delivery of software updates and software management
services. This reduces the time Linux administrators and users spend
searching, evaluating and implementing software patches, updates and
security alerts.

Volution Online monitors the software assets running on single systems and
networks of Linux servers and proactively delivers support alerts based on
the information the user needs, including: security alerts, software updates
and bug fixes. In addition, Volution Online provides advanced decision
tools for an administrator to preview the impact of software updates and new
installations by simulating a virtual installation. And like Volution,
Volution Online provides management services for all major Linux

of Caldera.
