Leading IT education specialist InterQuad Learning has partnered with Software AG, Europe's largest vendor of system software, to provide both technical and business-level training in XML in the UK.
This partnership follows the appointment of InterQuad Systems last year by Software AG as a distributor to supply XML (the universal data format for integrated e-business solutions) to the UK IT channel. Endorsed by software industry leaders such as IBM, Microsoft, Sun, SAP, XML transforms data, regardless of format, allowing information to be accessed directly and thus speeding up e-business transactions.
John Kauffman, Director and General Manager of InterQuad Learning, explains:
"InterQuad Learning is now able to meet demand from IT professionals for developing XML skills. According to research from IDC, there will be a need for a further one million networking and Internet professional staff in the UK by 2004. We believe it will be essential for many IT professionals to develop XML skills to increase the productive use of the Internet over wired and wireless devices.
"Our appointment in autumn 2000 as the first distributor to support Software AG in the UK demonstrated the technical and market expertise of InterQuad Systems. This new appointment endorses the strengths of InterQuad Learning as a leading, innovative technical training company."
Software AG views this move as further cementing its commitment to becoming a partner-centric company. Geoff Cooke, General Manager, Sales & Marketing, Software AG UK explains: "Our new distribution strategy has taken shape exactly as planned in the first half of 2001, and our relationship with InterQuad Systems is at the heart of this. It's even more encouraging that this now extends to InterQuad Learning, and, as part of the agreement, they will be able to take advantage of our superb training facilities at our Pride Park site in Derby. More importantly, working in this way with our partners will significantly assist Software AG in addressing the growing demand for XML-focused training."
InterQuad Learning will offer a range of both business-level and technical courses covering Software AG’s XML product family, designed to appeal to a wide range of IT professionals:
* all training delegates will be introduced to XML terminology and technology, and taught the business benefits it delivers;
* there will be courses in Tamino, the native XML server language, explaining benefits, usability and administration;
* IT practitioners will learn how to write XML-based applications to enable businesses to communicate using the latest global standards;
* technical architects will learn XML and understand its value to an organisation's IT strategy, learning from InterQuad trainers various horizontal and vertical applications of XML in the marketplace and XML’s role as a key enabler for b2b e-business integration;
* technical architects will also be taught how to build robust, scalable and integrated XML solutions and how to develop a project framework for the implementation of XML in their own businesses.
1,500 delegate days of training per year will be delivered at Software AG's training centre at Derby, in addition to training provided at InterQuad Learning’s education centres in London, Birmingham, Thames Valley and Milton Keynes.
