London – 16 May 2001: bluparc, an enterprise software company founded earlier this year, announced its formal launch today. The company’s flagship product, the CMR Environment, allows businesses to build targeted one-to-one marketing campaigns to their customers. The offering is unique in that the software automatically adapts the rules of campaigns based on customer responses to messages received.

“What differentiates us is that our CMR Environment reacts in real-time to all customer interactions. This guarantees that the appropriate message is sent in the most appropriate format,” said Stewart Holness, bluparc's CEO. “For marketers, this means that the analysis of a campaign can begin long before the campaign ends. For the first time, they can build a rules set that fine-tunes their messaging so as to optimise it.”

In addition to the CMR Environment, bluparc has created several “out of the box” applications providing personalised content and other features for targeted vertical markets, called Permission Builders, to gain the trust of end-users and acquire their permission to contact them directly on online and wireless devices.

Prior to joining bluparc, Toby Potter was International eBusiness Development Manager for MicroStrategy. In that role he was responsible for development of opportunities in the wireless and internet space. His involvement in deals with customers such as Deutsche Bank, la Caixa and Diageo resulted in the team’s meeting its annual revenue quota for the year 2000 in just six months. He was previously Director of Research and Development for Julia Schofield Consultants, managing a staff of 10 and introducing a new platform architecture for the delivery of the company’s multi-channel solutions. Previously he worked with Oracle as a senior consultant in their New Technologies division.

Gary Schwartz most recently was Product Manager for Global Finance at Strategy.com, a subsidiary of MicroStrategy. In this role he was responsible for defining applications and services for Strategy.com’s International Finance Channel. In addition, he acted as Bid Manager for the eBusiness team, managing the bid process from the initial presentation to senior management, to creation and delivery of proposals to the customer. Prior to joining MicroStrategy, he was Strategic Planning Manager for 4CAST Limited, a provider of market analysis to traders of currencies, bonds and money markets. In this role he built 4CAST’s internet delivery business, increasing the 4CAST customer base by 25% within three months of its launch. He was also a founder of InterNect (UK) Limited, an internet consultancy that focused on the financial vertical market in London, acting as both Technical and Marketing Director.

Ivan Zoratti comes to bluparc from MicroStrategy where he was International Director of Advanced Services, leading a team that created applications for personalised, one-to-one marketing. Previously, he founded two organisations – Aesse Italia, where he employed a team of 42 developing and selling complex OLTP applications, and Hexa Snc., where he built up a team of 12 as CTO, developing products for Digital Equipment operating environments.
