- "person centric" approach; puts status of projects “in your face”

Leeds, England - May 23rd 2001 – Eyretel, the UK's leading customer experience management specialist, is to adopt a new project management tool, Hydra, from The Program Management Group (PMG) to better control its key IT product development programmes. The £50,000 agreement follows a trial of PMG’s Hydra system, which has been shown to provide an excellent ‘real world’ view of every aspect of the development process. Developers at Eyretel will be implementing Hydra for all programmes, with phase one - 50% of the organisation on line – already complete.

Outlining the reasons for selecting PMG’s Hydra system, David Johnson, Head of Product Development at Eyretel, said; “Eyretel is a fast growing company and a key element for us is keeping tight control over the increasing number of critical development programmes. Our previous system just didn’t give the control we needed. For us, at Eyretel, delivering projects on-time and to budget is a given and with PMG’s totally integrated Hydra system everyone involved in a programme can see its status at any time – it’s in their face!”

David continues; “For me Hydra’s unique ‘person centric’ approach is essential. People cannot be used twice in the same slot and when they are allocated a role the system automatically updates their diaries. If a project manager puts an inaccurate programme together, everybody knows about it as soon as it’s published, and ‘advice’ comes swiftly to bear.

Hydra, with its self-computing and logical organisation, gives us a much more predictable and realistic view of programme plans on a weekly basis. It keeps me and my colleagues in the land of reality, not just informed of what project managers ‘expect’.”

Commenting on the contract Peter Bondar, PMG’s recently-appointed CEO and President, said; “This agreement with Eyretel clearly demonstrates that in order to maintain a global reputation for consistently delivering large and complex IT projects on time and to budget, both managers and the developers themselves within an organisation must have a realistic understanding of where they are in the process. Hydra is able to do this.

"Corporations can no longer successfully deal with the nightmare of managing resources by using traditional tools. Hydra has developed and proven the concept of program management, which harnesses scarce resources around the world and delivers them where they are needed. Hydra has huge potential in every aspect.” he added.
