CityReach Joins Internap's Channel Partner Program
LONDON and SEATTLE, WA, May 21, 2001 -- CityReach International, the pan-European provider of
infrastructure and managed services to the business Internet, and Seattle-based Internap
Network Services (NASDAQ: INAP), the leading intelligent routing services provider, announced
today that they will jointly market and promote their services and products in the US and
The partnership agreement enables Internap to extend its services to customers in the eight
European cities where CityReach International has facilities, while CityReach adds Internap's
Overlay Network to an array of services it already provides at its European locations.
"This partnership takes us well beyond a typical vendor-client relationship," said CityReach
CEO Sanjaya Addanki. "By working together we can take advantage of each other's core
capabilities and optimise the end result for our customers. CityReach is recognised as the
leading provider of carrier-neutral facilities in Europe. In addition to our 930,000 sq. ft.
of facilities space we also offer a series of value-added services including managed storage
services, managed servers and Internet access products. At the same time, Internap will be
able to offer remote connectivity services to complement the CityReach service portfolio. I
believe that each company's services will be embraced by our customers."
CityReach has developed highly secure data centres in eight major European cities including
Amsterdam, London, Dublin, Stockholm, Budapest, Berlin, Munich and Paris that cater to
clients who use the Internet for a variety of mission critical operations and processes that
demand the highest levels of security and guaranteed reliability.
"Internap is excited about utilising the world-class CityReach data centres and their
value-added services in Europe as a platform for offering our premium Internet connectivity
services," said Tony Naughtin, President and CEO of Internap Network Services. "Even if
Internap doesn't have a Service Point in the same European city, a customer in a CityReach
facility can gain access to Internap's European Service Points because of the low cost for
long-haul fibre throughout the continent. In effect, Internap's already established Service
Points in London and Amsterdam can service as a hub and spoke system for European customers
to access Internap's Overlay Network and benefit from our intelligent routing technology."
Internap's Overlay Network continuously monitors the traffic situation over all the major
Internet backbones and routes mission-critical data in a faster, more reliable and more
managed fashion than conventional Internet technology.
Founded in 1996 in Seattle, Internap provides Internet connectivity that is
faster and more reliable than conventional Internet service. Internap's patented route
management technology provides direct data transmission across the major Internet backbones
through a single connection from a customer's network to one of Internap's P-NAP facilities.
Internap's customers bypass congestion points on the Internet, avoiding packet loss, latency,
and other difficulties that can plague conventional Internet connectivity. InterNAP services
are currently available in numerous key markets throughout the United States including
Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, San Jose, and Seattle. Major companies and networks
served by Internap, include The NASDAQ, Datek Online, Colgate Palmolive, Earthlink,
