Customer relationship management (CRM) vendor Point Information
Systems has expanded its senior management team by appointing Corinne
Steer director of corporate marketing. The announcement comes as some
vendors in the CRM industry are turning in below-expectation results
and laying off significant numbers of employees.

Announcing Steer's appointment, Point's vice president of marketing
and alliances, Sarah Haskell, says: "The industry is seeing wholesale
staffing cutbacks and retrenchment, so by taking on new senior people
Point is quite definitely bucking the trend. We're still growing,
we're going places, and we need the right people to drive that process

Steer brings 16 years marketing and communications experience to the
job. Her extensive involvement in pan-European vertical marketing
activities across diverse sectors includes product launch campaigns
which out-performed revenue targets by significant margins. She was
previously with Baan and Onyx Software where she set up Middle Eastern
and Pan-European marketing infrastructures.
