Essential launch version 4 of organization-wide diary overview
for Microsoft Exchange and Outlook


Bristol, May 23rd 2001: Messaging experts Essential Computing Limited launch v4.0 of Agenda/X, the corporate calendar solution for Microsoft Exchange in the UK. Agenda/X provides an organisation-wide Agenda overview of all Outlook calendar appointments.

Agenda/X extracts Outlook calendar information stored by Microsoft Exchange Server and makes it available on the company intranet as a series of web pages. Users can see their co-workers whereabouts ‘at a glance’ using their web browser. They can also book new appointments without having to return to Outlook.

Administrators can group and consolidate calendar views to reflect different departments, organisational topography and different time zones. Standard views include daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly and these can be further tailored to suit business needs. End users can also define whose calendars they want to see without involving the administrator. All appointment information shown is subject to Outlook security, with any personal appointments remaining personal!

Agenda/X opens up an array of benefits such as:

· Easier management and visibility of both human and other resources (e.g. holidays and conference room bookings)

· Improved customer service (receptionists, for example, have a clear view of who is available at any point in time)

· Increased scope for value added services - e.g. extranet booking/availability of training courses

Agenda/X Version 4.0 includes the following new features:

· Microsoft Exchange 2000 compatibility

· Oracle database compatibility

· The ability to only gather free/busy information in large-scale enterprises and to get appointment details upon request

· Send Outlook meeting requests with the Agenda/X Web-interface (no Outlook installation necessary)

· Improved address book interface for booking meetings

· Improved overviews for easier printing

· Dynamically filtered overviews by Outlook category

· Microsoft DTPicker control is replaced by Agenda/X’s own calendar control for added security features

· Displays free/busy information for calendars that you are not allowed to access.
