Effendy Shahul-Hamid, Managing Director Asia Pacific, Brings Wealth of Experience to Ensim’s New Presence

London UK, May 23, 2001 – Ensim Corporation, the dominant hosting automation provider, announced today the establishment of its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore from which the company will drive customer acquisition and business development in the region. Led by Effendy Shahul-Hamid, Ensim’s managing director, Asia Pacific, Ensim will leverage his experience in the hosting and telecommunications industries to extend its leadership position in the United States to Asia Pacific.

Ensim’s flagship product, ServerXchange™, is a unique software solution that supplies comprehensive hosting automation and management capabilities for servers, applications and end-users from a single, unified interface. Targeting Internet service providers, hosting providers and Internet data enter operators, Ensim is confident of a significant revenue contribution from the region this year with its growing Web hosting opportunity.

“The rapid pace of growth in Asia Pacific is forcing hosting providers to seek new solutions that will extend their competitive advantage through new revenue opportunities and reduced operating costs,” said Rosen Sharma, president and CEO of Ensim. “Hosting automation presents the next wave in server-infrastructure efficiencies, and since ServerXchange has already proven its value to customers in the U.S. and Europe we anticipate that it will be successful in Asia Pacific as well.”

Ensim’s Singapore Asia Pacific headquarters complement the company’s other locations in the U.S., Europe and India. The Singapore facility will provide resources for sales, customer support and business development across the region.

“The deregulation of the telecommunications market has brought intense competition and there is an inherent need for service providers in the region to continually evolve and differentiate themselves,” said Shahul-Hamid. “Ensim’s suite of products and solutions fit the Asia Pacific market place perfectly, enabling these providers to dynamically enhance, scale and automate their hosting services to deliver best of breed applications and value-added services to their customers.”

As Ensim builds its presence in Asia, the company has already secured customers such as DataOne Asia and National Computer Systems Pte Ltd in Singapore, Asia Online in Malaysia and iiNet, Ltd. in Australia. These hosting providers use Ensim’s flagship product, ServerXchange™, for the comprehensive automation and management of servers, applications and customers from a single, unified interface. With ServerXchange, hosting providers can build a scalable hosting infrastructure, build and manage a reseller channel, create and expand plans and service offerings and develop a high-density hosting operation. In addition Spacedisk, a storage and content delivery network with operations in Singapore, is using ServerXchange as a key component in building a leading-edge content delivery service.

Founded in June 1998, Ensim currently employs over 100 people that have many years of collective experience in operating systems, networking and software application technology disciplines. With his extensive experience spanning from building technology based businesses, market-entry and penetration initiatives as well as formulating expansion and growth strategies for technology based companies focusing in Asia Pacific, Shahul-Hamid is well placed to extend the company’s leadership into the region.

Ensim currently has approximately 60 customers worldwide. In January 2001, the company secured US$64 million in funding, bringing total investment in Ensim to US$85 million since 1999.
