IT FACTORY Recognised for Innovative Use of Collaborative Technology to Improve Customer Service

BOSTON, USA, 24 May 2001 — IT FACTORY, Inc., the leading supplier of knowledge technology solutions, today joined the ranks of technology leaders such as Powersoft, Avid Technology, Boston Technology and Sapient when the Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) awarded the company its New Englander Award for Innovation. The New Englander Award recognises companies whose success is directly linked to the innovative approach they bring to their markets. SBANE, a non-profit association of 1,400 member companies throughout New England, chose IT FACTORY for its use of a creative collaborative-technology approach to achieve dramatically improved customer service.

The annual award, established by SBANE in 1986, recognises companies for their innovation and contributions to New England's economy. This year's award honors five New England companies, selected from more than fifty entrants that demonstrate the ability to achieve success through the innovative approach they bring to their marketplaces. A panel consisting of past New Englander Award winners, the chairman of SBANE and members of the Industry Leadership Council of the New England Business Conference served as judges.

The SBANE Innovation is the latest in a long line of awards and industry recognition garnered by IT FACTORY. The company was named one of Computerworld magazine’s “Top 100 Emerging Companies to Watch in 2000;” its technology has twice been awarded “Editors’ Choice” by industry magazine Lotus Advisor; and the company is a four-time winner of the prestigious Lotus Beacon Award. In addition, IT FACTORY founder and president, Lars Johansen, was recently named a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards.

“IT FACTORY has built a very successful business based on our ability to deliver innovative collaborative solutions to our customers,” said IT FACTORY president and CEO Lars Johansen. “From the beginning, we knew this success would depend on our ability to deploy this same level of innovation internally as well. We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition from the members of SBANE for our ability to ‘practice what we preach’.”

IT FACTORY provides “knowledge technology solutions” that enable people and organisations to work together more effectively, ensuring maximum value from investments human and intellectual capital. The company delivers a comprehensive range of award-winning applications and development tools for both the Lotus Notes/Domino and Microsoft Exchange messaging platforms, alongside a world-class professional services team.
