By the time the show closed, the exhibitors endorsed the success of this
year's event by signing contracts for 62% of next year's space (5,046
square metres). There can be no stronger endorsement of the success of
the decision to add ECC and e-CAST to the event this year and the move
of the combined event to the new ExCeL venue. MEDIACAST, ECC and e-CAST
2002, ExCeL, 20-22 May 2002 London, www.mediacast.co.uk

Brendan Sherry, Vice President Europe for Planetweb supported the
combining of the events stating, "We were pleased with the joining of
MEDIACAST and ECC, as Planetweb was able to highlight its offerings for
enhancing consumer electronic devices to a highly targeted audience."

The e-CAST exhibitors also found the co-location with MEDIACAST and ECC
very beneficial. David Swaddle, Chief Technology Officer for OuterEye
enthused, "e-CAST gave OuterEye access to high quality decision makers
from the broadcast industry. Many of these contacts we met were proving
difficult to meet via other approaches. It has provided an excellent
range of prospects for us to follow up."

This year the event attracted 9,232 attendees (ABC Audited) of which
6,897 were visitors and 2,402 were exhibitors. The show has become
firmly established as the top broadband networking event in Europe in
springtime with many of the exhibitors spending one day on their stand
and the other two networking around the show. Unless like galaxis they
were kept too busy to leave their stand! galaxis said, "we were
extremely happy to have returned to MEDIACAST as an exhibitor. The show
definitely exceeded by far even the most optimistic expectations. The
stand was constantly overcrowded by high quality visitors. In the
consequence none of the galaxis staff were able to attend the seminars…
All in all, it was a great success and galaxis will definitely be
attending next year."

Again there has been a significant amount of visitors from overseas,
with 52% of the attendees coming from outside the UK. This reinforces
the truly international profile of the event.

Ron Samuel, Head of Resource Management and Capacity Sales for Eutelsat
enthused EUTELSAT sees MEDIACAST as one of the leading European
networking events of the year. "As a major exhibitor at the show for
many years, we take this opportunity to meet others in the industry.
This year's exhibition provided us with the perfect opportunity to
continue to drive capacity sales on our recently launched Eurobird
satellite."

Many of the free ECC and MEDIACAST seminars were oversubscribed. Jorgen
Lembke, President iTV, AGENCY.COM explained, "we were very pleased with
the interest for iTV services, which was demonstrated by the many people
attending the seminar we hosted on interactive TV advertising".

The e-CAST sessions also proved extremely popular as many of the
visitors discovered the commercial potential of streaming media. Paul
Newton, Director of Services, Virage found, "the panel sessions were
well worthwhile, creating interesting debate amongst well-informed
experts. More importantly, from a sales point of view, was that
following our own appearance on one of the session panels, our company's
stand was overwhelmed with requests for product demonstrations and good-
quality leads. And that's a great endorsement for any Show."

Naomi Biggs, from BBC Technology stated, "We were pleased at the level
of participation and discussion in seminars at which BBC Technology
presented. We talked about PC to TV convergence, New Media business
models, iTV and Digital Rights Management which the audiences understood
as the right issues to focus on within this industry."

George Fraser, Director Northern Europe, RealNetworks "e-CAST provided a
valuable opportunity for us to meet some new players in streaming media,
as well as many old faces. As a medium to get our message across, our
keynote speech was well attended and we were impressed by both the
quantity and quality of those we met afterwards."

Neil Cook, Reed Exhibitions' Event Manager in charge of ECC, MEDIACAST
and e-CAST was extremely satisfied with the show, stating "I'm
delighted! With the co-location of ECC and MEDIACAST, the event was
larger than ever before, attracting more visitors and more exhibitors.
e-CAST, the new streaming media show, proved to be a hit, and the event
as a whole looked great in the 21st Century surroundings of ExCeL. We
have an excellent platform upon which we can build, and will be adding
new features and innovations in 2002 to maintain the show's leading
status."

Eutelsat

EUTELSAT sees MEDIACAST as one of the leading UK networking events of
the year. As a major exhibitor at the show for many years, we take this
opportunity to meet others in the industry. This year's exhibition
provided us with the perfect opportunity to continue to drive capacity
sales on our recently launched Eurobird satellite.

We also generated a lot of interest from the media, content and service
providers for our OPEN-SKY initiative, which we demonstrated for the
first time in the UK. Our experiences at MEDIACAST has shown us that the
UK market appears to be hungry for such a solution and we plan to launch
the service in the beginning of next year.

Ron Samuel, Head of Resource Management and Capacity Sales for Eutelsat

galaxis technology

"galaxis is extremely happy to have returned to MEDIACAST as an
exhibitor. The show definitely exceeded by far even our most optimistic
expectations. The stand was constantly overcrowded by high quality
visitors. In consequence none of the galaxis staff were able to attend
the seminars. Compared to the shows two and three years ago, the quality
of visitors has dramatically improved.

galaxis had the opportunity to meet many potential customers and
suppliers personally for the first time which is still important even
in the age of e-Mail and internet. Thus, galaxis managed to push forward
three large deals which we will hopefully complete within the next
weeks, and the show initiated contacts that will lead to further deals
within the next 6 months.

All in all, it was a great success and galaxis will definitely be
attending next year."

"Harmonic Data Systems found the MEDIACAST show to be very fruitful and

perfect media launch pad for a ground-breaking iDTV announcement we
made with Mitel, while the quality and variety of the sales leads we
received confirms our belief that we are on the right track as a
supplier of digital video and broadcast component solutions."
Rupert Deighton, EMEA Communications Manager for IBM Technology Group
