Mendez iTranslator(tm) provides free machine translation and online human
translation

Brussels, Belgium and Burlington, Mass., May 31, 2001 - Mendez, the world's

solutions, services and technologies today announced an innovative new
feature to be included in Microsoft Word and Office XP. Users of Word 2002
and Office XP will now be able to translate documents into a different
language in real time, with the inclusion of an instant translation
capability in Microsoft Word 2002, part of the new Microsoft Office XP
suite. At the click of a button, Microsoft Word 2002 users can instantly
access Mendez advanced machine translation technology providing 'gist level'
translation of text for 16 different language pairs. Translations are
virtually instantaneous as Mendez' web-based machine translation servers can
translate text at speeds of up to 5,000 words per minute and its large
server farm can handle up to 84 million words per day.


Mendez iTranslator is also accessible via the Microsoft Office eServices web
site: http://office.microsoft.com/services. Both Microsoft Office eServices
web site visitors and Office XP users are given unlimited access to free
machine translation. Mendez iTranslator currently supports 16 language pairs
including English, French, German, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.
Documents that need to be translated with 100 percent accuracy can be
submitted to Mendez for an immediate online price quote. This human
translation service is available in more than 30 different language
directions and translations can be completed within 48 hours.
