Complementary Watermarking Specialist Joins Alliance Partner Program
SealedMedia, the first company to provide a cross-media solution for dynamically securing and selling content on the Internet, announced today that watermarking specialist Central Research Laboratories Ltd (CRL), the technology generation arm of Scipher Plc, has joined its Alliance Partner Programme to offer music and video publishers the ability to finally distribute content online, safely.
UK-based CRL, has been responsible for developing a number of world firsts over the past 70 years; from invention of the CAT scanner, which won its inventor a Nobel Prize, to the invention of stereo sound recording, CRL develops innovative solutions to meet modern business needs.
Through joining the Alliance Partner Programme, CRL integrates its audio and video watermarking expertise with SealedMedia’s digital rights management (DRM) solution. “The partnership with SealedMedia opens up a huge e-market of audio and video products,” explained Robert Flint, Sales Director for Multimedia at CRL. “We clearly identified that SealedMedia’s solution would complement our own, allowing content to be protected throughout its lifespan.”
With SealedMedia’s DRM solution protecting the content through the distribution process and CRL giving the content a traceable identity though its watermarking technology, publishers now have the solution required to embrace the Internet revolution and move online. Details of who is allowed to access the content and how they are able to consume it is held within the watermark, without encroaching on the perceived quality of the file that the consumer accesses.
SealedMedia’s proven and widely deployed DRM technology allows content owners to seal cross-media content (html, PDF, image, audio and video formats.) and distribute it digitally to end users with powerful and flexible licence configurations in the knowledge that it always remains protected.
“What particularly impresses me is how compellingly SealedMedia helps us to offer a solution that publishers want now, and how it understands what the market needs are in an increasingly competitive environment,” said Flint. “The need for technology to protect the intellectual property rights of producers and distributors of valuable content is gaining impetus. Through joining SealedMedia’s Alliance Partner Program, we are able to offer new-generation DRM environments that provide content owners with a greater degree of protection.”
“CRL is a valuable addition to our Alliance Partner Programme and complements our existing DRM solution perfectly,” said Owen Kilbane, SealedMedia’s Director of Strategic Alliances. “It is very exciting to welcome CRL to the programme and address the global problem of protecting copyright, whilst enabling the content that people want to be distributed in the format that they want – online.”
