Argogroup, the leading supplier of device intelligence for the wireless Internet, today
announced the release of version 1.1 of its UbiquinoX Device Targeter software. Enabling the
delivery of richer content to all wireless devices, Device Targeter V1.1 ensures a better
service for end users making it an essential part of the infrastructure needed by all network
operators and wireless Internet content providers.
In a market flooded with a vast diversity of WAP devices, content providers have been forced
to 'dumb down' their services to ensure a high level of publishing across the pervasive
devices. Argogroup's Device Targeter eliminates the need to simplify content, allowing
content providers to publish much richer wireless content that appeals to a more users across
a broader range of WAP devices.
Following the launch of version one of Device Targeter in November last year, today's
enhanced technology boasts more device profiles, a greater value-add to customers as well as
an additional 18 features requested by network operators, portals and content publishers.
With many devices still unable to display data in a tabular format, one of Device Targeter's
most requested feature is the ability to publish tables on every WAP device even if it does
not support the capability. Character set issues such as the switching of the half and
quarter symbols, the platform-wide incompatibility with the Euro symbol and, in some cases,
problems with displaying the pound symbol can also be eliminated with Device Targeter V1.1.
"Improving the quality of 2G applications is essential to making future 2.5G and 3G services
a success. Wireless content publishers must make their current 2G wireless applications both
compelling and well executed in order to bridge the gap to 2.5 and 3G," said David Frodsham,
CEO, Argogroup. "Argogroup's market-leading Device Targeter technology is vital for network
operators, wireless content providers, wireless portals and large enterprises, increasing
customer satisfaction, revenues and reducing site development and testing time. "
To support Device Target V1.1, Argogroup's labs have experts in the field of device profiling
and maintain a worldwide device profiling capabilities. Collecting profile information from
around the world, Argogroup promises buyers of its Device Targeter software frequent updates
to make every WAP-enabled device on the planet function well and look great.
