Former Palm and Apple Computer Executive to Lead BlueKite's Expansion

London - June 6, 2001 -, a leading mobile Internet software provider, today
announced the appointment of Robin Abrams as president and CEO. Abrams brings more than 20
years of senior executive experience to BlueKite, including recent roles as chief operating
officer at Ventro and president of Palm Computing (formerly a division of 3Com). At BlueKite,
she will drive the Company's expansion into Eastern Asian markets and advance BlueKite's
product offering with both new and existing customers in Europe and the Americas.

"Ms. Abrams' past experiences and overall credentials bring further depth to BlueKite in
technology and corporate leadership, as well as strong relationships in the financial
community," said BlueKite's Chairman Bill Hipp. "Her background fits well with BlueKite's
focus on the end-user experience and global markets. She has spent most of her career
addressing customers' needs in order to bring them functional and reliable products, and we
believe she can help accelerate end-user adoption as BlueKite continues to lead the industry
in product innovation."

Abrams' proven strategic, leadership, and operational expertise come from holding numerous
executive positions in both the U.S. and abroad. At Ventro, she helped shape Chemdex into a
pioneering position and evolved its business model, and at 3Com she helped extend Palm's
leadership in the worldwide handheld computing market. Prior to 3Com/Palm, Abrams also served
as president and CEO of VeriFone, Inc., a subsidiary of Hewlett-Packard, where she led the
traditional point-of-sale business and the growth of electronic commerce markets for smart
cards and Internet solutions.

"Based on my past experiences, I recognise the vast opportunity that the mobile Internet
represents, and subsequently the level of growth BlueKite's business can achieve as a result.
Our strongest asset is a world-class team of employees. In addition to our team, we also have
the leading, most established customer base in the industry - an industry that BlueKite
helped start by focusing on value-creating solutions for service providers. BlueKite is
destined to become the global leader in one of the world's fastest growing industries," said

With the addition of Abrams, David Cox, BlueKite's founder as well as president and CEO since
the company's launch in 1997, will continue to contribute to BlueKite's success by serving as
an advisor to the executive team. After raising nearly US$50 million in venture capital
financing and growing the company into a leader in the emerging wireless software industry,
Cox believes that Abram's appointment is a validation of BlueKite's past success and future

"BlueKite has grown from a relatively simple idea into a 100+-person company with partners
and customers around the world, not to mention an extremely strong asset base and technology
platform," said Cox. "The combination of Ms. Abrams' demonstrated capabilities and our
existing team will propel BlueKite to the next level of success."

Abrams' senior management positions at Apple Computer included serving as president of the
Americas and vice president and general manager of Apple Asia. Before joining Apple, she also
spent eight years with Unisys in several senior-level positions. Abrams holds Bachelor of
Science and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Nebraska.
