New Gateway Guarantee promises to beat competitors’ prices
As price competition in the PC market heats up, Gateway UK & Ireland today introduces the Gateway Guarantee – ensuring that customers will be the true winners. Stealing a march on the competition, the Gateway Guarantee promises customers that for a limited time, Gateway will beat the price of a comparable name brand PC – to take advantage of the offer they just need to present a competitor’s advertisement.
“Gateway has always been committed to offering customers the best technology at the best value and our latest initiative, the Gateway Guarantee, reinforces this,” said Paul Heath, Vice President, Gateway UK & Ireland. “ With so many of our competitors claiming to offer the best prices around, the Gateway Guarantee makes it simple for customers to cut through the hype and be sure they are getting the best deal. In addition to great customer service and support, we are now offering unbeatable prices with The Gateway Guarantee.”
The Gateway Guarantee is being launched today with national press advertising. The advertising tagline is “The PC Price War. You Win!”
The Gateway Guarantee invites customers to come into one of the 12 Gateway stores1 in the UK, or to visit our concession stands in selected Debenhams stores2, where they can speak to a Gateway advisor. The advisor will help the customer determine if the advertised system is comparable to a selected Gateway system, and if so, and the competitor’s price is lower, Gateway will beat that price.
To be eligible for the Gateway Guarantee, consumer and business customers will be required to present an advertisement from the relevant days National Press (as specified in Gateway’s advertising) for new PCs from Compaq, Dell, Fujitsu Siemens, Hewlett Packard, IBM, Packard Bell, Sony, Time, Tiny or Toshiba. Offer is available for a limited time only and subject to Gateway having available stock with relevant specification. Consumers are entitled to one PC at the Gateway Guarantee discount. Business customers are entitled to up to 10 PCs. Comparisons to the selected Gateway systems will be based on type of processor, memory, hard drive, operating system, screen size, graphics card, modem, LAN, warranty, speakers and Microsoft ® software. Comparisons must be either business to business or consumer to consumer. The Guarantee does not apply to liquidation/auction sales or limited quantity items. The Guarantee cannot be combined with other offers/discounts.
