IBM Global Services adds Tamino to its portfolio WebSphere Application Server and Tamino XML

Software AG and IBM will market and sell the WebSphere/Tamino combination
Bracknell, 08 June, 2001: Software AG, Darmstadt, Germany, and IBM (NYSE: IBM) have executed a Customer Solutions Agreement whereby IBM will add Software AG’s e-Business product line to its portfolio and resell the software and services. This agreement strengthens and expands the Software AG/IBM partnership to now include revenue generation opportunities and joint customer solutions.
Software AG’s XML database, Tamino™, was the catalyst for the agreement. Tamino XML Database is the ideal information server for XML information because it can store, integrate and exchange data directly in XML native format. With Tamino XML Database, enterprises have instant access to any data across business boundaries using Internet technologies.
This ground-breaking agreement also encompasses Tamino X-Bridge, Tamino X-Studio and EntireX. In addition, Software AG is working with IBM to provide a close bundling of IBM’s award-winning WebSphere Application Server and Tamino XML Database. This will give application developers a proven technology platform, enhanced with cutting-edge XML technology, on which to build the electronic business applications of the future.
