Centre for Employment Initiatives employ Projectplace as its Web
collaboration tool for the Citizens at Work and Westminster projects

London, June 8 2001 - Projectplace International Ltd, the leading ASP for
communication and collaboration services in Europe, announced today that
both the Industry and Parliament Trust and the Centre for Employment
Initiatives (CEI) have chosen to use the Projectplace collaboration service
to facilitate projects being undertaken by the European Social Fund. These
two new business wins see Projectplace entering the Government market sector
as associated bodies are being asked to make better use of technology to
automate and control processes and costs.

"Using Projectplace has helped to reduce travel and hotel costs as it allows
us have access to all documents relating to the two projects from anywhere
in the world. With everyone being kept abreast of document changes and new
uploads etc. we have experienced better liaison between partners," said Joe
Holly, director of the government body - Centre for Employment Initiatives.
"As a hosted service we use it on a 'pay-per-use' basis which provides us
with tremendous cost savings in terms of applications and licences that
would need to be purchased. There were also no implementation costs and
Projectplace looks after the security levels of the site too so we don't
need to be concerned with firewalls etc."

The Industry and Parliament Trust are working on an initiative entitled the
Westminster Project, which is dedicated to training MP's assistants, they
elected to use Projectplace as a tool to improve the organisation of work
when liasing with external partners. Likewise the CEI are working on an
initiative called the Citizens at Work project, which aims to help to
improve the employability of people through training. They opted to use
Projectplace for communicating with geographically dispersed members of
teams. Both organisations had investigated the option of building an
Intranet or extranet to assist them but after discovering the large costs
and time needed to build such networks, independently both decided not to
take that path but to look for something more flexible in terms of setting
up time, ease-of-use, accessibility and payment model which could service
their requirements.

"Projectplace addresses a number of vertical market sectors," said Dak
Liyanearachchi, Managing Director of Projectplace UK. " With the adoption of
Projectplace by the Centre for Employment Initiatives we have taken our
first step in the UK Government sector and are now helping these Government
bodies adhere to the new Government-led initiatives which encourage
businesses to move to an IT-based collaboration system."

The business concept of Projectplace is to provide a global pay-per-use
Web-based application service for professional project collaboration. lets the project members share document and files,
schedule meetings, carry out project scheduling with to-do items and time
charts, hold online discussions, etc. The service makes it possible to
create virtual teams, communicate securely independent of geographic
distance and also enables the project member to constantly be updated of
what is happening in the project.
