…Argogroup to offer mi4e's end-to-end secure EM Wireless Suite™ to its customers…
Mi4e, the Swedish company developing the leading edge Embedded Mobilisation wireless Internet
infrastructure software, today announced it has signed a non-exclusive OEM agreement with
Argogroup, a UK based leading supplier of device intelligence for the wireless Internet. Mi4e
has the patent pending unique Embedded Mobilisation technology that allows WAP, SMS and other
mobile services functionality to be embedded into existing content servers. This technology
also includes a full WTLS security stack; the security technology used on today's many WAP
phones. Under the new agreement Argogroup will include mi4e's new enhanced version of its EM
Wireless Suite™ with Argogroup's UbiquinoX Device TargeterÔ capabilities. The announcement
of Argogroup's new product, combining mi4e's EM technology with Argogroup's device targeting
product, is a big endorsement of mi4e's vision of Embedded Mobilisation providing cost
efficient end-to-end security for enterprise and operator applications.
Argogroup develops and markets leading edge device intelligence products that enable
enterprises, content providers and operators to rapidly and flexibly deploy wireless services
across all of the diverse handset technologies currently available. The new Argogroup product
will enable application developers to offer full end-to-end security for WAP sites that
contain highly sensitive information such as banking or airline check-in.
Commenting on the deal James Ewing, CEO, mi4e, said "We are delighted that Argogroup has
chosen to work with mi4e. Argogroup's ArgoLab is well known and respected in the WAP industry
for its benchmarking and testing services. To have Argogroup select our technology is a real
compliment and an endorsement of everything that we have been working toward."
"WAP currently suffers from what many describe as the 'security WAP gap'," said David
Frodsham, CEO, Argogroup. "Currently you have to trust the owner of the gateway. With the
help of mi4e, our new offering will close the 'security WAP gap' once and for all. Customers
will be able to buy an easy to install network appliance allowing a secure WAP session from
handset to the data centre of the application. Needless to say we have seen a strong demand
from the financial industry."
Argogroup plans to launch its new end-to-end WAP security product, which will include the
UbiquinoX technology, in early autumn.
