London 11 June 2001 – Leading mobile software and portal technology provider, room33, has entered an agreement with Föreningen Rockparty, organisers of the Hultsfredsfestivalen - the largest and longest running music festival in Sweden. Under the agreement, room33 is to provide concertgoers with updated information about concert times and other news directly to their mobile phones via SMS.

Festival organisers, Föreningen Rockparty have chosen the room33 m-info Mobile Marketing application to keep music fans informed of any changes to schedules and concert times. “The room33 m-info Mobile Marketing service offers a fast, effective and innovative channel through which to keep music fans informed,” said Fredrik Blom, press officer, Föreningen Rockparty.

The organisers are expecting more than 20,000 people to attend the festival this year, many of whom have mobile phones and use SMS every day. “In the past the size of the crowd has proven to be a problem when it comes to effectively communicating any changes or broadcasts to many people at once, “said Blom. “The m-info solution will allow us to get the information out quickly and effectively to a large number of people simultaneously.”

The festival is held over three days from 14 – 16 June in Hultsfred in the south of Sweden, features seven stages and more than 140 acts, including leading rock musicians such as Limp Bizkit, Manic Street Preachers and Iggy Pop.

“The room33 Mobile Marketing services are a suite of SMS-based applications that offer organisations new media channels for communicating directly with customers, “said Huw Hampson-Jones, CEO, room33. “Customers opt-in enabling an organisation to quickly and easily create direct communications channels and rich customer profiles – and for a low cost compared to traditional direct marketing methods. The Hultsfred agreement gives an idea as to the potential of such a service and the value it adds to the CRM process.”

Föreningen Rockparty will send messages both before and during the festival to those who have indicated an interest in receiving them. Others interested in signing up can do so at the popular festival website at www.rockparty.se
