London 12 June 2001 – room33 (www.room33.com) and Riot Entertainment (RIOT-E, www.riot-e.com) have signed an agreement to provide Spanish fans a cutting-edge mobile entertainment service that allows them to keep up with the latest happenings in the life of Bridget Jones, fictional star of the movie “Bridget Jones’s Diary.”

room33 is providing the interactive messaging technology to enable mobile users in Spain to access the new entertainment service, which provides updates as to the most recent occurrences taking place in the life of the Bridget Jones character.

The content is provided through an exclusive agreement between Riot-E and Helen Fielding, author of the best-selling book and creator of the central character in the blockbuster movie. Provision of messaging technology by room33 makes the service possible and it is being launched to coincide with the release of the movie across Spain.

Through this highly innovative service, users are offered the chance to subscribe directly to the diary and receive its entries direct to their mobile phones via SMS. Messages will be sent at various times of the day and will keep users updated as to what is happening at that moment in the continuing saga that is the life of Bridget Jones.

Bridget Jones’s Mobile Diary is the first of several planned mobile entertainment services to be launched jointly by room33 and Riot-E in conjunction with ‘Bridget Jones’s Diary.’ Following a successful launch in the UK, future planned services in Spain are SMS-based and include a “Mobile Diary” containing previously unpublished content by Helen Fielding, “Ask Bridget Jones” where users can send Bridget a message asking her opinion and advice on a variety of lifestyle topics and the “Life – Personality Test” - Bridget’s interactive survey to determine whether your man is right for you.

About Helen Fielding

Helen Fielding was born in Yorkshire and lives in London and Los Angeles. She worked for several years for the BBC (where she produced documentaries in Africa for Comic Relief) and has written regularly for the London Sunday Times, Independent and Telegraph newspapers.
