SCi Games go wireless with MASE

SCi, the established premier games developer has selected MASE, Europe’s leading network infrastructure integrators to supply a secure, high speed wireless data and voice connection between its two UK sites. SCi chose the MASE infrared technology to solve the connectivity problem between its UK headquarters and its satellite office, and to eliminate the need for expensive cable options.

Faced with the usual upheaval of cable laying along with the expensive leased line option, SCi was forced to look for an alternative. MASE supplied SCi with a wireless 100Mbps, high speed infrared connection. By implementing the MASE convergence of wireless, voice and data networking solution, SCI has already seen savings of around £20,000.

Jon Wild, operations manager, SCi, commented: “The MASE infrared technology has provided SCi with a solution that allows data and voice to run simultaneously along side each other. We looked at the leased line option, and found the MASE wireless infrared technology the most cost effective and more efficient than traditional methods.”

The speed at which the lasers were installed, was another reason that SCi chose the MASE solution. SCi Games also benefit from the infrared link as data can be safely transmitted across the 500m distance.

MASE is part of neoscorp, a leading UK provider of high-bandwidth, end-to-end communications solutions. Together with its other subsidiaries - Sohonet and neosnetworks - neoscorp offers an exclusive combination of experience and expertise within the converged, voice and data networking market.
