Synergies Between EMC Networked Storage and Citrix Application Serving
Software to Benefit Mutual Customers

12 June 2001 - At Citrix® iForum(tm) Northern Europe, EMC Corporation, the
world leader in information storage, and Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:CTXS),
a global leader in application serving software and services, today
announced the formation of an alliance that will help customers, including
service providers, centrally manage both applications and information as
they deliver network access to end users. The development alliance paves the
way for a single point of control for managing applications and information
to help customers reduce costs, simplify server management and offer new
services.

As part of the relationship, EMC will become a Premier member of the Citrix
Business Alliance(tm) (CBA) and Citrix will join EMC's E-Infostructure(tm)
Developers Program. The companies have begun scalability testing and
engineering work on Citrix MetaFrame application server software with EMC's
Celerra® and CLARiiON® IP4700 network attached storage solutions. In
addition, the companies will work together on sales, marketing and support
initiatives, including the development of white papers that will highlight
best-practices implementations of the two technologies. Both companies
currently use each other's solutions as part of their information technology
systems.

Steve Kaplan, president of RYNO Technology, an EMC and Citrix Platinum
reseller, said customers will see many benefits from the new relationship.

"Citrix and EMC's solutions are based on the same principle - centralised
management and control to cut costs, reduce the complexity of managing
server farms, and improve availability," he said. "Bringing these two
solutions together makes sense for the customer and for Citrix and EMC."
EMC and Citrix will demonstrate the interoperability and value of the two
solutions at the EMC Platinum Sponsor exhibit booth at Citrix iForum
Northern Europe in London beginning June 13. The conference is designed for
IT innovators as well as Citrix resellers, systems integrators, alliance
members and ASPs, to exchange ideas, successes and strategies on application
server computing.

"Customers are always searching for ways to use their information to drive
additional revenue, be more competitive or improve customer service," said
Don Swatik, EMC's vice president of global alliances. "This alliance will
give our mutual customers integrated tools that allow them to capitalise on
the vast amounts of business information they gather each day, with
confidence that the joint Citrix and EMC solutions have been tested by our
world-class engineering teams."

David Jones, senior vice president of corporate development for Citrix, said
the alliance will benefit Citrix and EMC by providing access to a broader
customer base and by providing new solutions for resellers. "EMC's
reputation for quality and service has its foundation in large enterprises
and data centres.," Jones said. "Working with EMC will allow Citrix to more
effectively reach enterprise-wide information technology decision makers
with a complementary and compelling solution. The relationship also provides
both companies' resellers with new solutions in a space that these resellers
already understand well - centralised management and control."
