MGI Zoom Image Server integrated with Imation Matched Workflow concept
to provide high-resolution pre-press proofing solution for digital creations

MGI, a leading global provider of visual media software products and infrastructure, and Imation, the specialist in data storage and information management, colour management and imaging solutions, today announced a European agreement where MGI’s patented Zoom Image Server technology will be integrated with Imation’s latest concept, Imation Matched Workflow, to offer the graphic design industry in Europe a fast and reliable high-resolution online proofing solution.

Jean-Marc Laigle, managing director, Imation Color Technologies, Europe, said, "The integration of MGI’s Zoom Image Server technology into Imation Matched Workflow solutions considerably enhances the service we are already providing for our customers in the area of digital applications, helping to reduce time, and improving efficiency and reliability."

Stephen Mold, managing director Europe, MGI, said, “The alliance with Imation in Europe will result in considerable savings in production time, and reductions in the cost of materials such as Matchprint, and third party services such as couriers. It will also help to cut down the time involved in approval processes, and overall, will lead to better quality control in the digital imaging process.”

MGI Zoom Image Server allows, for example, an artistic director to view an advertisement in minute detail on-screen. S/he can then modify the work immediately, and forward a digital approval if required. With Zoom Image Server, high-resolution images can be uploaded in a matter of seconds, avoiding any unnecessary printing.

Furthermore, MGI Zoom Image Server’s dynamic imaging technology can significantly reduce the time required for the enhancement and manipulation of images. Zoom Image Server publishes high-resolution images directly from a single source. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to create, store and manage several copies of the same image file in order to view them in various sizes and resolutions. Viewing these high-resolution images also requires no plug-ins or Java applets. Therefore, graphic design professionals can share and manipulate high definition images and digital creations in real time, thus optimising the entire production process.
