XcelleNet’s Afaria Provides Software Delivery And Ongoing Management Tools For Enterprises Deploying Wireless Knowledge’s Anystyle Mobile Business Application

XcelleNet, Inc., a leading provider of management solutions for wireless mobile devices and remote systems, and Wireless Knowledge, Inc., a Microsoft and QUALCOMM company that delivers enterprise-grade software and services for companies looking to mobilise their information, today announced a co-marketing and referral agreement to provide enterprise customers with a solution for remotely deploying and managing wireless mobile devices and the applications residing on them.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wireless Knowledge will offer its customers XcelleNet’s Afaria application, which manages the deployment of AnystyleÔ software on “smart client” devices, such as Palms, Pocket PCs, RIM wireless handhelds, and Smartphones. The combined solution allows enterprise customers using Anystyle to centrally deploy and upgrade the application to wireless mobile devices.

“We are pleased to be working with Wireless Knowledge and their team of professional services consultants,” Senior Vice-President and Managing Director EMEA, XcelleNet Ltd, Bob Apollo. “Our partnership with Wireless Knowledge brings together some extremely powerful m-business applications and services that can effectively kick-start and manage an enterprise-wide mobility initiative.”

“Our wireless technology pedigree and industry-leading m-business solutions help companies take the first steps in their mobility initiative,” said Bryan Visser, Vice-President and General Manager, Wireless Knowledge EMEA. “As a complement to our data-access products and services, the Afaria application provides our customers with an important next step by offering the ability to deploy and manage mobility solutions from a central point or from multiple sites.”

XcelleNet’s Afaria application allows enterprises to extend essential systems management capabilities – such as software deployment, hardware and software asset tracking, information exchange and system back-up to mobile devices, including laptops, PDAs, Smartphones and interactive pagers.

Wireless Knowledge’s Anystyle application featuring continuous over-the-air synching, provides real-time, secure mobile access to corporate email, calendar, and contacts using the RIM 950 and 957 wireless handhelds, and soon to include other “smart client” devices that fetch and store data locally. In addition to mobile devices with offline capabilities, Anystyle also works with browser-based devices, such as Internet-ready mobile phones, and wired or wireless laptops.

The combined solution is available today and may be deployed through a single server installed within the corporate network.
