1TIER ANNOUNCES PILOT AGREEMENT WITH QOS NETWORKS Monday 25 June 2001 PDF Print …To cover data traffic transmission to QoS' European and US customers… 1Tier, developers of QFlow technology that optimises data, voice and video communication traffic over the public internet, today announces that it has entered into a pilot agreement with QoS Networks, a provider of a new generation intelligent IP services, utilising high performance routing to optimise content delivery with guaranteed Quality of Service (QoS). Under the terms of the agreement, 1Tier will conduct tests to monitor network performance and a range of services under full transmission of data traffic to QoS Networks' customers in European and North America. Once tests have been completed both parties anticipate the service to become commercially ready to accept customers. In readiness for full commercial launch, 1Tier has installed proprietary servers (Q-Nodes) in QoS' network and it is anticipated by both parties that the pilot will extend to include Tokyo and other Asian locations during the next few months. Daniel Daniel, CEO and co-founder of 1Tier, said, "The cooperation agreement signed with QoS Networks allows 1Tier to demonstrate its technological capabilities and the quality of its services in partnership with a leader in the new communications marketplace. We expect this agreement to be the first stage in the cooperation with QoS Networks and to expand the relationship further to include working with larger customers in Europe and USA". Daniel added, "QoS Networks operates the most sophisticated communications infrastructure providing advanced services, which will soon be augmented with 1Tier's technological advantage, enabling the expansion of QoS Networks services to customers in Israel and additional countries." Jim Valentine, CEO of QoS Networks said "This agreement with 1Tier, one of the most exciting content acceleration companies in the market, demonstrates QoS' commitment to delivering high performance, high quality transmission of converged traffic to our customers. We believe that as the market develops, an alliance with 1Tier will deliver demonstrable customer value and service."
