Opticom ships iView 3.0™, a highly scalable, modular product suite which provides complete end-to-end service management for service providers and enterprises alike
OpticomÒ, the leading provider of e-service chain management solutions, today announced the general availability of iView™ 3.0, an integrated software management package that detects, diagnoses and resolves e-service management problems.
“iView has all but eliminated the labour involved with producing reports from Spectrum and allowed us to accurately assess the level of service we provide to our customers,” said Michael White, LAN administrator for West Interactive Corporation, a leader in providing efficient, reliable and flexible interactive voice processing solutions. “iView Capacity and iView Availability are two iView modules that are particularly important in helping us assess the performance of our entire network and planning for future growth.”
Opticom believes that the complexity of the public and private network’s components, as well as the need to deliver reliable, high-performance e-business services over this infrastructure, have created a demand for more integrated and intelligent network management tools. Opticom’s e-service chain management technology, an approach conceptually similar to business value chains, addresses this demand by providing a holistic view of the services being managed across the entire network. iView allows businesses to retrieve information quickly in a format that makes it easy to identify and resolve potential problems.
“The customer response to iView 3.0 has been truly gratifying,” said Ed Flannery, Opticom CEO. “The ability to retrieve clear and meaningful data from your network is something our customers clearly see a need for and the feedback has been extremely positive.”
iView provides a cohesive, end-to-end analysis that facilitates the process of obtaining meaningful information about service levels, availability, capacity and assets. The iView 3.0 application suite includes several distinguishing new features and modules, including:
Enhanced Architecture – Major enhancements have been made to increase the robustness, resiliency and low and high-end scalability of iView’s architecture, making it suitable for use in both mid-size and large-scale service provider and enterprise environments.
iViewTM Service – iView Service is the primary support vehicle for e-service chain management. In addition to measuring the operational and financial impact of end-to-end service delivery throughout the network and verifying SLAs to determine how outages impact users, iViewTM Service 2.0 provides the following enhancements: end-to-end service and service policy definitions, planned service outages, administrative overrides, hours of operation, automatic SLA generation and specific service thresholds. iViewTM Service 2.0 also contains a new graphical interface that allows users to easily configure services and policies.
iView VisualVantageTM – This entirely new module exposes the iView interface and any or all of its reports to a broader audience by providing portal services to end user communities through a multi-user login capability, subsets of reports and a notification system for supporting communication between end users and the technical operations staff.
Other iView modules include: iViewTM Core, iViewTM Availability, iViewTM Asset, iViewTM Capacity and iViewTM Version Control.
Pricing and Availability
The iView 3.0 suite of applications is comprised of seven modules, which can be purchased separately and bundled in a variety of configurations to suit each customer’s requirements. Pricing for iView starts at $5,600 depending on configuration. iView 3.0 is currently available through Opticom’s certified partners.
