Company's European operations obtain successful QS-9000 re-certification
ON Semiconductor (Nasdaq: ONNN) today announced the company's European
operations obtained a successful QS-9000 re-certification including
QS-9000's Semiconductor Supplement 2nd Edition and recommended upgrade
to the ISO/TS 16949 quality standard.
The European Design, Marketing, Planning, Logistics, Purchasing,
Information Technology, Quality, External Manufacturing and Sales
operations were audited by an accredited third-party quality systems
assessor, Lloyds Registrar Quality Assurance (LRQA) at the company's
Toulouse, France-based offices on April 23-25th.
"We strengthened our competitive position by acquiring the
recommendation to upgrade to the recent international ISO/TS 16949
standard, setting the benchmark for the industry", said Herve
Marchionini, Director of Quality in EMEA. "This achievement demonstrates
our continued efforts to anticipate our customer's long-term business
ISO/TS 16949 is a technical specification for automotive supplier
quality system requirements. According to Brian A. Burroughs, LRQA's
Product Manager for ISO/TS 16949, "[ISO/TS 16949] represents a major
breakthrough for the automotive industry in that it harmonises the
quality system requirements of some of the world's largest automotive
manufacturers and is set to provide significant benefits to those
