-- Andrew Hancock heads up financial sector for Scotland --

SAS Institute has appointed Andrew Hancock as Account Director in Scotland. Previously an account manager for the financial sector in the UK, based out of the Manchester office, Hancock is responsible for growing SAS’ business within Scottish-based financial organisations and leading the global teams that work with these customers.

Hancock joined SAS two years ago and has extensive experience in the IT and financial sectors, starting out as a trader for a merchant bank at the London Stock Exchange. He has worked in IT in sales strategy management, automated scorecard and the general business information arena for a number of global companies. Last year, Hancock won SAS’ coveted European salesman of the year award, as result of a number of major contract wins.

“I aim to achieve revenue growth for SAS in the financial sector here, both within existing customers and prospective ones,” commented Hancock. “In the finance industry, there is trend towards mergers and globalisation, with a large number of Scottish financial institutions leading this on a global level. The number of organisations SAS is targeting is therefore reduced, allowing us to focus our resources and form closer more strategic relationships for mutual benefit.”

Hancock added, “This is a very customer centric market, driven by data, As companies merge, the need to gain competitive advantage is growing and the key differentiator is how they deal with their customers and therefore customer relationship management. Collecting online and off-line data from disparate data sources and extracting knowledge from this to improve customer relationship management is one of SAS’ core strengths.”
