NTL, Europe's leading broadband communications company has implemented
iOra's software solution to deliver and manage information for its field
engineers. NTL has chosen iOra's solution to ensure that the engineering
workforce has access to vital information they need for maintenance work at
Technical information that engineers need while they are on-site is held on
a corporate intranet. This information, which includes technical diagrams
and connectivity details for many different types of installation, is
updated almost daily. With engineers based mainly in the field or remote
locations, this presented a problem of how to keep a large mobile workforce
up-to-date with the information needed to complete maintenance effectively.
Using iOra's software solution the intranet is maintained on the engineers'
laptops, giving them immediate access to the information - without having
to dial up. Updates are automatically delivered and applied whenever an
engineer dials up to collect email or access the Internet.
