UK’s Largest Storage Distributor Drives Market Push for StorCase InfoStation Disk Array

StorCase Technology, formerly the Storage Products Division of Kingston Technology Company, has signed a distribution agreement with the UK’s largest storage-centric distributor Ideal Hardware. The deal will allow StorCase to benefit from Ideal Hardware’s UK-wide relationships with corporate resellers and dealers with the StorCase InfoStation family of new generation RAID and disk enclosures for server attached NAS and SAN applications.

“As our products evolve it is crucial that we keep our channel partnerships accurately tuned to exploit the key benefits of the technology that we produce. It makes sense for us to cement our business with distributors capable of operating with our newer range of products. I’m confident that Ideal Hardware’s emphasis on complete storage solutions rather than individual building block components, will help to ensure continued commercial success for InfoStation,” said Ajay Lukha, European director, StorCase Technology.

Ideal Hardware’s distribution model is well suited to the technical form of the InfoStation enclosure as the company has extensive UK-wide channel relationships with corporate resellers and dealers coupled with extensive knowledge of the disk storage market. Previously, customers looking for a RAID array storage solution from StorCase would have needed a storage specialist reseller to sell and build to individual requirements. With InfoStation, customers can get a pre-configured RAID array that is as just as well suited to entry-level requirements as it is to enterprise managed and redundant Terabyte storage environments. This large window of potential product configuration creates greater sales opportunities and is a great example of a well-aligned vendor to channel to customer link.

“StorCase’s product and channel strategies reflect a forward-looking and considered approach to the changing shape of the storage market and the true nature of customer needs,” said Fergus Campbell, SAN product development manager at Ideal Hardware. “Building this distribution agreement has meant working through a rigorous selection and accreditation process, but we’re familiar with professional standards and we aim to continue to develop OEM partnerships with best-in-class vendors such as StorCase.”

InfoStation is an intelligent and rugged steel rack mount or tower chassis designed to reliably house up to nine 3.5 inch half-height, single-connect (SCA) SCSI drives with data transfer rates of more than 18,000 IOPS through U160 or fibre host connections. The unique 4-disk channel and multiple configuration capability provides a level of performance, scalability and redundancy previously only possible at a much higher price point.
