OneWorld® Integration for BizTalk Server 2000 pre-integrates J.D. Edwards’ OneWorld Xe with Microsoft technologies; customer SupplyCore.com is already using the offering to tightly integrate its BizTalk-based e-commerce web site with J.D. Edwards fulfilment operations
J.D. Edwards, a leading provider of agile, collaborative solutions for the Internet economy, today announced the general availability of its OneWorld® Integration for Microsoft BizTalk Server 2000. This new BizTalk adapter delivers superior interoperability to J.D. Edwards customers for additional Microsoft technologies - Microsoft Message Queuing (MSMQ) and Microsoft Commerce Server 2000.
The product extends the value of OneWorld Xe, J.D. Edwards' collaborative enterprise and supply chain software, enabling companies to integrate inter- and intra-enterprise applications and processes using Microsoft technologies. Collaborative commerce, in which companies share critical information with customers and suppliers to ensure greater efficiency at every level of the supply chain, enables organisations to realise significant cost savings while becoming more responsive to customer demand.
Benefits of OneWorld Integration for BizTalk Server 2000
J.D. Edwards’ OneWorld Integration for BizTalk Server 2000 enables OneWorld and OneWorld Xe users to quickly create powerful application-to-application (A2A) and business-to-business (B2B) collaboration using Microsoft technologies, including:
- BizTalk Server 2000, Microsoft’s XML-based integration broker platform, where users can easily orchestrate XML Web services and rapidly build dynamic business processes that span applications, platforms and businesses, both within and between organisations
- MSMQ, Microsoft’s message queuing platform, for reliable and scalable delivery of transactions
- Commerce Server 2000, Microsoft’s e-commerce sell-side platform used by companies such as Dell and Office Depot, including 12 pre-integrated messages such as sales order processing and inventory updates
OneWorld Integration for BizTalk Server 2000 embodies the continued commitment of Microsoft Corp. and J.D. Edwards to deliver high-value solutions to their joint customers that enable them to meet today's business challenges, noted Trevor Salomon, marketing director Northern Europe, J.D. Edwards.
“Now more than ever, enterprises need technology that is easily implemented and can drive bottom-line results very quickly, without disrupting on-going operations,” Salomon explains. “OneWorld Integration for BizTalk Server 2000 enables us to combine the benefits of two powerful sets of technology to meet these requirements.”
“Reaping the real rewards from collaborative technology requires automating and integrating the business processes that companies undertake every day throughout the supply chain. This means more than just enabling data and applications to randomly flow between trading partners,” said Dave Wascha, product manager for BizTalk Server 2000 at Microsoft Corp. “BizTalk Server 2000 helps companies orchestrate these random business processes into a powerful unified solution. With the new J.D. Edwards BizTalk Server adapter, our mutual customers now have a complete framework to optimise their existing corporate and customer data throughout the supply chain to streamline business processes, increase supply-chain efficiencies and improve overall customer service.”
Delivering on Freedom to Choose, Power to Share
“We recognise that businesses need to embrace a number of solutions and technologies to help them solve a wide range of issues facing them today,” said Salomon. “J.D. Edwards’ ‘Freedom to Choose, Power to Share’ strategy puts us in a leadership position for those businesses. OneWorld Integration for BizTalk Server 2000 demonstrates our unwavering commitment to deliver the best foundations for true collaboration and customer value. Our long-standing relationship with Microsoft, their technologies and their customers greatly strengthens this position.”
