Nearly 3 Terrabytes of strategic data protected at TPS

London, 9th July, 2001 - Quadratec today announced that TPS, a leading
satellite television company, currently counting more than one million
subscribers, has chosen the Time Navigator solution to ensure the security
and availability of its strategic business data. TPS selected Quadratec's
award winning backup and restore solution to set up a powerful,
high-performance and reliable data storage system in an effort to respond to
the success encountered and support its strong business growth.

"Our decision for a backup solution naturally turned to Time Navigator
software. It meets the very stringent requirements of the media industry
which TPS is part of: 24/7 IT operations, significant volumes of data to
back up and maximum availability of commercial and strategic information,"
declared Philippe Cassan, Systems Manager at TPS.

The many services TPS provides to its subscribers require making the
availability of commercial information contained in the Oracle databases an
imperative must. Each customer can at any time of day or night change their
subscription using Interactive Television, and subscribe to a new option
either using the decoder or by telephone via TPS's Call and Telephone
Processing Centre, directly or through its Interactive Voice Server. These
databases are protected using Time Navigator's hot backup feature as TPS can
neither stop them nor slow down their performance.

Time Navigator allows the backup and restoration of this heterogeneous
architecture (commercial information on subscription management hosted on NT
and Unix platforms). This crucial information hosted in several Oracle 8i
databases is backed up hot by Time Navigator eliminating database downtime
or network performance slowdown for users. The storage infrastructure
includes Compaq T64 5.0A ES40 servers and a Compaq TL895 library equipped
with five DLT drives. The system is connected by an Ethernet Gigabit
network and managed by Time Navigator.

TPS manages large volumes of strategic data: commercial information,
contract histories, customer relations, etc. The data protected by Time
Navigator represents a total volume of about 3 terabytes.

Satisfied with this architecture, TPS plans to replicate it for its
workgroup applications (office tools, e-mail, distributor and equipment
management, accounting, human resources) and for management and interactive
services (weather, programming guide, TV mail) under NT, representing 150
new Compaq ProLiant servers to backup.
