Telecoms Project Management Company To Make 3G a Reality
LONDON, England (July 11th, 2001) - MKI, the project management expert for the telecoms industry, today announced it had extended its relationship with Orange. MKI has been selected by Orange Communications SA, Switzerland to project manage the design and build of GSM and 3G sites in Switzerland. Backed by its expertise in the area, MKI is making 3G networks a reality for its clients.

MKI’s strong track record with Orange was a key factor in winning the contract. Since 1997, MKI has worked with Orange on a number of projects in UK, Belgium and Switzerland. These projects have included managing the construction of some of Orange’s most unusual and demanding sites.

Since 1993, MKI has acquired, designed and constructed in excess of 4,500 wireless base stations throughout Europe with over 70% of these constructed on a turnkey basis.
Switzerland is a key market for MKI’s wireless business, however since 1998 other projects have included the deployment of a 46km fibre optic network in Zurich and the construction of 3000m2 of switch sites in Geneva. MKI has 40 employees located in offices in Zurich and Geneva.
MKI’s business is the project management and implementation of communications infrastructure rollouts. Combining expertise in the areas of telecommunications and construction, MKI project manages the installation of long distance and metropolitan fibre networks, customers’ connections, telehotels and datacentres, switches and nodes and wireless 2G and 3G base stations. MKI provides turnkey solutions, including: feasibility studies, planning, site finding, acquisition, design, construction, and the project management of installation, commissioning and maintenance of sites.
