For Symbian OS Based Wireless Devices

XcelleNet, Inc., the leading provider of management solutions for remote systems and mobile & wireless devices, and Symbian have announced that XcelleNet has joined Symbian’s Technology Partner Program. Under the agreement, XcelleNet will provide wireless device management solutions to enterprises using Symbian OS based devices, and Symbian will provide assistance to help XcelleNet market and support its technology solutions optimised for the Symbian OS.

XcelleNet’s Afaria ™ provides enterprises with the ability to track and manage applications and data resident on Symbian OS based devices, allowing them to increase the productivity of their mobile workers, while decreasing their cost of ownership.

“We are very excited about formalising our relationship with Symbian,” said Bob Apollo, XcelleNet Senior Vice President and Managing Director, EMEA. “They are leading the charge to propagate a standard software platform for wireless information devices, and it is an important step for XcelleNet to work side-by-side with Symbian to provide enterprises with the tools they need to mobilise their workers.”

“We believe it is critical that we work in partnership with companies like XcelleNet to ensure that enterprises are able to assimilate Symbian OS-based devices into their business processes,” said Mark Edwards, EVP Sales and Marketing, Symbian. “XcelleNet’s focus on the Symbian OS will be an important factor in driving mass-market adoption for Symbian OS-based devices in the mobile marketplace.”
