Companies to benefit from improved user productivity

July 13, 2001 - At Microsoft Fusion 2001, Citrix Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq:
CTXS) today announced an agreement with Microsoft enabling Citrix to
leverage Microsoft® SharePoint(tm) Portal Server functionality with Citrix®
XPS(tm) portal software. As part of the agreement, Citrix has joined
Microsoft SharePoint Developer Community Partner Program.

"Making SharePoint Portal Server's search and document management
functionality part of our portal solutions will improve user productivity
through more efficient use of information sources. SharePoint Portal
Server's functionality nicely complements the broad capabilities of our
XML-based portal software," said Paul Hahn, director of corporate
development for Citrix. "We look forward to continuing a long, fruitful
relationship with Microsoft as we evolve our portal offerings and support
important Microsoft initiatives like .NET."

XPS is an XML-based portal software product Citrix acquired when the company
purchased Sequoia Software Corporation earlier this year. XPS enables
businesses of all sizes to streamline and automate complicated business
operations, and provides a single window through which anyone in the
enterprise can interact with partners, vendors, customers and fellow
employees in real time, achieving results in seconds instead of days. Built
upon an XML server that provides support for massive numbers of users and
volumes of data, XPS combines flexibility and significant functionality,
easing adoption and deployment.

SharePoint Portal Server is a flexible portal solution that allows companies
to easily find, share and publish information. Each standalone server
offers enterprise-level search functionality (developed by Microsoft
Research) and integrated document management tools. SharePoint Portal Server
provides a focal point for finding relevant information stored across
multiple data sources, including SharePoint Team Services websites, Exchange
data stores, file shares, Notes databases, and Internet sites.

"Citrix is providing its customers with powerful XML-based products and
technologies that enable them to easily use any device to find and get
connected to information from anywhere," said Gytis Barzdukas, group product
manager of the SharePoint Portal Server Business Unit at Microsoft.
"SharePoint Portal Server as part of XPS will help customers build a more
complete portal solution with a way to organise, find and share information
created with Microsoft applications."
