Ensim’s New Exchange Appliance Software Automates the Provisioning and Deployment of Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server

London UK, July 16, 2001 – Ensim Corporation, the dominant hosting automation provider, announced today the first Exchange Appliance software that lets hosting providers fully automate the creation, provisioning and deployment of service plans based on the Microsoft® Exchange 2000 Server. Using Ensim’s ServerXchange™, the leading hosting operation platform, hosting providers can now significantly improve time-to-revenue through simplified installation of Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server messaging and collaboration plans sold either directly or through resellers.

Ensim’s Exchange Appliance leverages the innovative features of ServerXchange that have contributed to the product’s adoption by more than 60 customers worldwide. The new Exchange Appliance has three levels of control panels for multi-tiered administration by hosters, their resellers and end users; the capability to track Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server licenses, mailbox usage, reporting and billing; and the same Web-based user interface as other Ensim appliances for single-console management in mixed Windows®, Solaris and Linux environments.

“Our Exchange Appliance is one more milestone in the execution of Ensim’s plan to give hosting providers the products and services they need for increased profitability through differentiated plans and hosting automation,” said Rosen Sharma, president and CEO of Ensim. “With more than 60 customers worldwide, ServerXchange has proven that is reliable, secure and truly essential to the migration toward next-generation hosting infrastructures. Ensim’s customers have asked for the capability to host Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server and we continue to meet and exceed their requirements for successful hosting operations.”

Other benefits of the Ensim Exchange Appliance include:

· Simple drag-and-drop installation of Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

· Ability to host multiple organisations on a single Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server, with secure isolation between organisations.

· Complete Microsoft Outlook® functionality including support for POP3, IMAP and secure Web access (OWA over SSL).

· Built-in organisational templates for standard configurations with support for adding customer templates for differentiated plans.

Ensim’s Exchange Appliance dovetails with the company’s recent appointment as a Microsoft Certified Partner. Ensim’s new standing with Microsoft now helps ISPs, Internet data centre operators and hosting providers license the Microsoft applications directly through Ensim’s hosting operations platform, ServerXchange. For the hosting providers, Ensim’s new role helps them reduce time to acquire and deploy Microsoft applications and lowers upfront capital expenses. This process is a harbinger of how Microsoft would like hosting providers to deploy Microsoft applications through their .NET initiative.

For example, using the drag-and-drop interface of ServerXchange, a hosting provider can load Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server or any other Microsoft application supported by Ensim, onto the target server. Within minutes, the application and pertinent tools are in place for immediate sales by the hosting provider and their resellers.

Ensim’s Exchange Appliance is currently available. Monthly recurring charges start at approximately $180 per month, including all the necessary Microsoft software licenses.
