BATH 29 June 2001- Alan Ewing, CEO of Koala Consulting, the rapidly
expanding Bath-based information technology resourcing firm, has been
appointed as special advisor to the board of the government backed young
persons advice website, YoutNet.

Alan has been advising YouthNet management on information technology support
and marketing strategy for its website charity ''.
Founded five years ago by newsreader Martyn Lewis CBE, YouthNet receives
more than 78,000 page impressions per week and aims to reach 3.5 million
16-25 year olds within 12 months. The site offers advice on all subjects
close to young people's hearts including sex, drugs, housing, careers,
health and legal issues.

YouthNet is backed by funding from a number of government departments
including The Home Office as well as a number of major corporate sponsors .
The Prime Minister Tony Blair is an active supporter of YouthNet and in 2000
opened DoIt the volunteering site of YouthNet.

The first task in Alan's new role as special advisor to the YouthNet board
will be to deliver, with Koala, a new element to the site called 'AskIt.'
This will enable people to ask questions via PC or Internet TV that will in
turn be distributed to one of 150 charities for an immediate response.
Other primary objectives of the role will be to continue to develop links
with other relevant organisations and to increase the profile of the site.
Alan commented: "We wanted to wait until the site had undergone a solid
testing period before we embarked on a nationwide publicity campaign to
ensure the content and search engines were spot on. It's an incredibly
exciting time for the site and ourselves. YouthNet is more worthwhile than
anything I have ever dealt with."

Colin Jones, Development Director of YouthNet asked Alan to be special
advisor because: "He had worked extensively with our major sponsors Oracle
in the past and was asked onto the advisory team for AskIt. As a result of
working together on this project and successfully gaining funding from a
number of major sponsors, it was decided to offer Alan and Koala the role of
overall project director for AskIt and also become special advisor to the
YouthNet board. We feel Alan and the Koala Consulting team are making a real
contribution to the YouthNet project and we plan to extend the relationship
further as we develop more sites under the YouthNet banner."
