Fluid.tv and TMA Ventures to stage TMA Online Convention Friday 20 July 2001 PDF Print Using state of the art technology, Fluid.tv, the online event company and TMA Ventures, the organisers of TMA2001, the leading communications business exhibition and conference organisers, are to stage one of the world’s largest fully integrated online and physical exhibitions. The Online Convention will go live prior to the physical show to be held in Brighton from 29th to 31st October 2001. Last year the physical event attracted over 17,901 visitors with 304 exhibitors where £150 million of business was negotiated over the three days. Fluid.tv (formerly Livenue.com) will extend the communication and trading opportunities online to a global audience of qualified communications professionals. Building on the success of last year’s Online Forum, that ran for one month after the physical event and received in excess of 50,000 hits, the event will be more than just a website, it will be a communications experience. TMA Online Convention will widen the audience of both exhibitors and delegates. It will appeal to exhibitors looking to maximise return on investment as a cost effective method of communication with both physical visitors to the show and those unable to attend in person. Fluid.tv will promote the event to TMA Ventures’ database of over 103,000 potential delegates and aim to have over 55 exhibitors online composed of organisations exhibiting at TMA2001 and those companies that do not typically exhibit at the show. TMA Online Convention will maximise the benefits of advanced streaming media technology and exciting presentations to produce real time and on demand webcasts. Exhibitors at the web-based event will benefit from the ability to capture detailed online profiles and interests of delegates who visit their stand online. Registered delegates to the physical event will have the opportunity to plan their visit to maximum benefit. In the same way those unable to attend in person will have access to the TMA Online Convention 24 hours a day, seven days a week from the comfort of their home or office. Everyone will be able to revisit the event after the show has closed and take part in managed discussion forums with concise question and answer sessions. Rob Bosher, founder and product marketing director at Fluid.tv said, “Using the latest interactive technology, exhibitors at the TMA Online Convention will be able to bring their individual online modular presentation space alive making it a personal and interactive experience. Adding streaming media to product and service launches, executive presentations and video clips to corporate web sites, the event will provide a link between an organisation’s physical and online marketing activities. Delegates will even be provided with the equivalent of an ‘electronic carrier bag’ to gather interactive items from different exhibitors to view later in their own time.” Terry Chellew, managing director at TMA Ventures concludes, “We proved last year that a web-based event can extend the life and reach of the show. This year our objective is to illustrate to both vendors and delegates the great flexibility of TMA2001 Convention Online in terms of logistics, feedback and integration with the physical event and other marketing activities. Fluid.tv has the experience and technical ability to make it the perfect partner for this major event.” - ends - Notes to the Editor About TMA Ventures TMA Ventures is the commercial arm of the CMA (Communications Management Association – formerly the TMA), the leading communications business user group.
