Two companies combine XML content management and Java-based application server, delivering customers flexibility and choice when building web applications

Tridion, a leading European provider of XML-based web content management software, and BEA Systems, one of the world's leading e-business infrastructure software companies, today announced the integration of Tridion DialogServer with BEA WebLogic. The integration of the two company's solutions is a result of customer demand for the seamless delivery of XML content to commerce- and personalisation-enabled applications running on the BEA application server platform. Tridion also today announced its membership in BEA's Star Partner Program.

By supporting the BEA WebLogic platform-including the BEA WebLogic Commerce Server and BEA WebLogic Personalisation Server-Tridion is offering its customers flexibility and choice when developing and deploying web applications. Tridion DialogServer's native support for the Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) standard adds to its existing support of the Microsoft .NET environment. This open platform support allows customers to realise reduced application development costs, seamless integration of XML content with other JAVA-based e-business applications, and faster time to market for their online initiatives.

"Tridion DialogServer is one of the few XML-based content management systems that has a truly open and modern architecture, with full support for both JAVA and Microsoft .NET," said Jouk Pleiter, president at Tridion. "We recognise that many of Europe's leading enterprises are running on BEA's market-leading infrastructure software, and with today's announced alliance, they now have a tightly-integrated, end-to-end solution with which they can easily manage their XML content and integrate it with a variety of complementary JAVA-based e-business applications."

"Content management is a critical component to any enterprise web environment, and XML will continue to play an important role in the exchange of content across various websites, channels and applications" said Olivier Huck, BEA's vice president of alliances and channels for EMEA and Asia Pacific. "Tridion's leadership in XML-based content management makes them a strong partner for us, and will provide customers in Europe with a scalable, high-performing, complete e-business solution."

Tridion DialogServer is a best-of-breed web content management solution, fully based on the XML standard.
