and modify supplier product and service information for all its UK operations
London, UK, 24 July 2001 - Requisite Technology(r) Ltd today announced that it
is providing its catalogue content management solution to Consignia plc, the new
name for The Post Office, for its enterprise-wide e-procurement initiative.
eMerge(tm), Requisite's catalogue content management solution, is currently
under trial at over 40 sites across the UK.
Consignia's e-procurement system, based on the SAP platform, delivers improved
control over expenditure on indirect goods and reduced purchasing administration
and processing costs to its UK operations. Requisite's eMerge catalogue content
management system enables Consignia to create and modify supplier product and
service information using an intuitive user-interface accessed via a standard
web-browser, ensuring end-users always have the most up to date purchasing information.
To date, fifteen preferred suppliers have joined the Consignia e-procurement initiative,
in total offering over 12,000 catalogue items. These organisations benefit from more
efficient ordering processes and are assured that Consignia purchases are made from
their product ranges, not from competitors'.
All catalogue content created for the Consignia e-procurement system is consistently
classified under the Requisite Unifying Structure (RUS(tm)), a global content
organisation standard, which enables the deployment of web-based, multi-supplier
catalogues while allowing individual suppliers to differentiate products through its
support of rich content formats in any major platform, including SAP's application.
